I don't know about you, but I am loving the fact that we have snow at Christmas – my two boys are defrosting as we speak having just been in a snowball fight with the neighbours. I realise that it has caused a lot of disruption, and older folk may have difficulty getting around, but I am also ashamed at the fuss this country seems to make every time it snows - I remember as a kid we ALWAYS had snow and, after last year, surely people realised it would happen again? To me it seems as if the seasons are actually readjusting back to what they should be!
However, the lack of local shops and facilities seems to be one of the main problems – and shame on us for going with the supermarket culture which has decimated local shopping to the extent that we always have to get in our cars to get even a pint of milk these days!

We love these little guides – this time you can find out where the best ski runs are in Les Trois Vallees – the famous three valleys ski resort in France
BE MY VALENTINE
Put away the bubbly this Sunday – why not warm the cockles of your heart ( and your sweetheart’s) with a deep and rich – and extremely tasty - bottle of sherry? Roz Cooper recommends Harveys Pedro Ximenez.
